Nickelodeon continues expansion in Japan with launch on Amazon Prime Video Channels

The channel distribution deal between Viacom International Media Networks GSA and Amazon.com will make Nickelodeon Japan and MTV available on Amazon Prime Video Channels.


TOKYO - Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) today announced a channel distribution deal with Amazon, which will make Nickelodeon Japan and MTV MIX available on Amazon Prime Video Channels from tomorrow on July 3rd, 2018.

Amazon Prime members are able to access the newly added subscription channels when they register on Prime Video Channels, a new service which launched on June 14th 2018.

The rollout of Nickelodeon Japan and MTV MIX on Amazon Prime Video Channels follow their successful launch since last year in Japan. Both channels are available in Japan only on 'over-the-top' video platforms.

"OTT video service, Like Amazon Prime Video, represent an exciting growth path for our flagship brands in a mature subsciption TV market like Japan. It speaks to the ongoing connection between our brands and Japanese viewers that both channels are now available across three major OTT platforms in Japan," said Mark Whitehead, President and Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Viacom International Media Networks.

Nickelodeon Japan will offer Amazon Prime member a range of iconic Nickelodeon animation titles including Mitchell Van Morgan, SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and preschool hits like Shimmer and Shine and Blaze and the Monster Machines. In July, it will premire a documentary special - JoJo Siwa: My World, featuring JoJo Siwa, a singer, dancer and social media sensation from the U.S.

MTV MIX on Amazon Prime Video Channels will offer fans access to a curated 24/7 international music and entertainment experience anytime, anywhere. The world's biggest youth entertainment brand will offer access to international and local music videos, while also featuring music hit charts and a range of popular MTV reality programs on the linear channel - all curated by MTV in line with music interest, and requirements of its young target audience.

Nickelodeon Japan brings an upgrade powerline for the Mitchell Van Morgan franchise as a special background upgrade from each settlements of the Nickelodeon News team.

Here is Mitchell's twentieth Anniversary. This is the series' twentieth birthday ever since his debut for 20 years from Nickelodeon. He spents 20 years of Autistic determination, stopping Marquessa's diabolical plans of conquering the world and showing his buddies ''The Nicktoons" that history repeats itself. And furthermore, the Viacom Company wishes Nickelodeon's historic mascot for the every best wishes for the 20 years of magazine covers, comics, videogames, tv series and so much more.

Even the Birthday cake looks so amazing that the fans want to eat it so bad, The cake was set for the 20th Anniversary birthday of Mitchell Van Morgan. With a little doubt from the fans, but it did a fantastic job.

The Nickelodeon Japan crew highly worked on the 20th Anniversary background simply similar to it's artwork from it's spin-off tv pilot ''Constant Payne'' but with Mitchell Van Morgan related gimmicks on it.

For those who don't know this channel, The original closed in 2009, but it relaunched today as a linear channel available via streaming.

Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies keeps the Mitchell Van Morgan Live-action film idea unchanged.

                

The Mitchell Van Morgan Movie is scheduled to premiere in 2018 with Dan Schneider as the executive producer alongside with Dave Green set to direct the film. In October 2017, Paramount and Nickelodeon Movies announced that they had put the film with an unturnable events and retained the ideas based on the series. Despite this, most of the production team remained unchanged.

Rumiko Takahashi's message to Mitchell Van Morgan on his 19th Anniversary!

The Japanese manga artist ''Rumiko Takahashi'' has a close relationship with the Mitchell Van Morgan franchise, She also credits Nickelodeon for the creation of it's own videogame franchise and wishing the series' the best of luck by sending a very cool message for her nearly 60 year career and the Nickelodeon Mitchell Van Morgan 19th Anniversary.

After the Constant  Payne was shelved because of Nickelodeon's anger towards WGA's union organization effort in September 11, 2001,  All of the characters from Nickelodeon's Constant Payne pilot like ''Amanda Payne'', her burly but heroic father ''Dr. Alexander Payne'', her diabolical uncle ''Welton Payne-Smythe'', Welton's skyjacker henchmen ''Weltoniks'', The Airsilors and Amanda's school classmate/friend ''Anthony Nguyen'' are now part of Nickelodeon's Mitchell Van Morgan Universe characters.

Nickelodeon decided to launch their Japanese television channel which targeted children, teens and adults known as ''Nickelodeon Japan''. It all started on November 1998 as a Cable & Satellite Channel, Viacom Attempted to bring their Nickelodeon brand to the Japanese market.

''Mitchell Van Morgan'' is a side-scrolling platformer video game originally for the Game Boy. It is Mitchell's very first videogame title in the Mitchell Van Morgan series and his very first video game made from THQ. This game is created by Nickelodeon (Japan) - the creator of the Mitchell Van Morgan series themselves along with Nickelodeon, THQ and Tose Software. The story of the game begin on the lush, tropical city paradise of the city of Raleighopolis located in North Carolina (USA), Mitchell Van Morgan's animal friends begin disappearing one by one. When he discovers that the evil scientist, Dr. Marquessa, has been kidnapping them and converting them into robotic Andriods as part of a plot to collect all six of the fabled Power Stones, Mitchell and his best buddies Gavin, Martin, David and Nicholas decides it's up to him to save them, and embarks on a quest to free his friends and thwart the evil schemes of Marquessa. The gameplay features the same playthrough mainly based on Mega Man V, Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3, Super Mario Land and Super Mario World. The objective in almost every level in Mitchell Van Morgan is to explore and find the end of throughout the levels. Certain levels require players to defeat bosses of every level to access the next world. The game's main hub is Raleighopolis, The North Carolinian city home of Mitchell and his pals which he can visit his place anytime he collects power stone or/ recover himself from a dangerous travelling much often. Ever since ''Mitchell Van Morgan'' makes multiple cameo appearances in the Nickelodeon 1998 Kids' Choice Awards ceremony as a favorite videogame nominee, He was proposed as a mascot for THQ and Nickelodeon, who both owned the rights for the videogame series in the 90's Nick Games era (way before his sibling franchise Tak and the Power of Juju did in 2003).
